Sunflowers of almost 500 ha, but also oil-seed crops like rape, safflower, soya
are processed in this project to fuel for vehicles and to material for heating.
The oilseeds of farmers in the area are pressed cold and the resulting pressing-cake is used as heating material and protein feed. The extracted oil is used as fuel for especially adapted vehicles. A further focus in the area of BIO-energy is the production of chopped material for district heating stations and heating plants. As renewable energy these fuels and burning materials produced of organic substances are an important contribution to the protection of natural resources, the stabilisation of climate and also the reduction of imports of energy. |
